The Zandmotor is a stretch of reclaimed beach, creating a lagoon that ends in the sea.
Here you will find all conditions, the lagoon is shallow and flat and at sea you can sail in the waves. When the tide is out, the lagoon gets a lot bigger. There is also a small inner lake where you can sail. It can be very busy on the Zandmotor because for both beginners and advanced kitesurfer the kitesurf spot the Zandmotor is a great place to sail. On the beach you will find several beach bars where you can chill out before or after your session. Important rules Outside the beach season, you can just ride anywhere on the Zandmotor. A number of rules apply during the beach season (June 1 to September 1).
Kitesurfing is then only allowed 150 meters from the low water line, so on the high seas. You can take off and land at the inland lake and north of the Zandmotor, where there is also a sign with "BEWARE! Kite surfers ".
Kitesurfing is tolerated during the summer months, take into account the applicable rules. Before kiting, always check the signs at the beach entrance where the specific regulations for the spot are indicated. Accessibility The Zandmotor can be reached from both the north and the south side. On the north side you can park for free at the Machiel Vrijenhoeklaan 175 in The Hague.
From there you walk to beach entrance 2 (Hoek van Hollandpad). South of the Zandmotor you can use the parking spaces at beach entrance Molenslag. From the parking lot it is a fifteen minute walk to the beach.
